ART CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
LEARN HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN MASTERPIECES
WHETHER YOU ARE WANTING TO LEARN NEW TECHNIQUES OR INCREASE YOUR SKILLS AS AN ARTIST, THIS IS PERFECT FOR YOU!
Group workshops are for advanced artists on Saturdays only and private classes are for individual lessons scheduled accordingly.
BEGINNER ACRYLIC PAINTING CLASS CARRICULUM
Each student will enjoy learning all the basic concepts of art and have time to explore their creative side through the introduction of acrylic painting. Each class is 2 hours long and designed to accommodate the needs of each student and how they learn. All supplies are provided. Children and adult lessons are available. Ages 7 years and up. No experience necessary. Supplies will be provided except mix media pad for practice.
2 hr. Agenda:
30 min. introduction to materials with lecture
30 min. practice time
1hour painting time
CLASSES INCLUDE:
1 Color theory– Students will learn and have a better understanding of the color wheel. They will learn the difference between primary, secondary, tertiary, complimentary colors. They will also have an opportunity to experiment with color mixing, blending techniques, and will also be taught the importance of a values, hues, and tones.
2 Composition- Students will understand how shapes, forms, tones, and color are used in art to create the composition of their painting.
3 Texture– Students will be taught how to create the different types of texture of surfaces, objects, & animals using acrylic paint.
4 Light/dark– Students will understand how the intensity of light can affect the subject they paint and use it to create more realistic art. They will learn greyscale, and experiment with new techniques to achieve their goals.
5 Perspective–This class is a basic drawing class that introduces materials used to draw and how to create dimension, and different points of view.
6 Line–This class teaches how to use the concept of line to evoke feelings, movement, and know the difference between geometric, and organic lines.
7 1st Landscape Painting-Students will create their own landscape painting to show their understanding of how to use the concepts taught in class. Focus on concept of creating composition, using perspective and understanding line.
8 2nd Painting-Students will create their own still life painting using a still life display as a model to show their understanding of how to use the concepts taught in class. Focus on concept of tones of color, creating texture, and use of light and dark.
